Oliver has been painting since 1997. He developed his own style In 2000.
The style quickly became noticed. In 2001 Oliver was Invited to show
his "Village Eviction" at an exhibition In the RHA Dublin, where it hung along side some of his heros work, he was delighted, and explained
he had never dreamed his work would hang along side Roderick O Connors and many
other famous artists. Who could ask for more at such an early stage in
my art. The image was auctioned the next day and made a higher price than any of the painting
sold that morning In Dublin. |

Oliver Curran was born in Newry Co Down in 1949. He is a self taught painter
in his own naïve style which is now copied through out Ireland .
Oliver's images are deceptive in that within thier seemingtly simple construction
there is a complex underpinning and arduous advanced naieve ability to
imatate his ancestors. His themes reflect his love of Ireland & his appreciation
of the "Irish history & Craic, and the Irish peoples hardships through out the
Centuries" |
